Allie Shapiro Dandry

Allie Shapiro Dandry is a recognized force in Louisiana's philanthropic and business communities, known for her ability to blend creative vision with strategic execution. Over the past decade, she has shaped how purpose-driven organizations communicate, respond to crisis, and lead with impact—whether through high-growth brand development or large-scale community initiatives. As the inaugural Executive Director of the newly established Shapiro Family Foundation, she leads a philanthropic organization dedicated to hunger relief, education equity and supporting local New Orleans initiatives that advance these two crucial pillars. Her work through the foundation builds upon a long-standing legacy of service and innovation, deeply influenced by her parents, Dan and Debbie Shapiro, who have remained her biggest supporters and guiding forces in her lifelong commitment to community service and equity.

Prior to her leadership role at the Shapiro Family Foundation, Allie served as the director of philanthropy for Krispy Krunchy Foods LLC, where she built and led the company’s social impact efforts from the ground up. Before transitioning to philanthropy full-time, Allie also served as the director of marketing at Krispy Krunchy Chicken where she was instrumental in many milestones in sales and brand recognition growth. During the early years of Krispy Krunchy Chicken’s aggressive expansion, she played a pivotal role in establishing the brand's digital footprint and under her leadership initiated a robust corporate social responsibility program that utilized its mobile food truck to provide free meals to communities affected by natural disasters. During hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic, her team provided more than 15,000 meals to families in need.

Allie's significant contributions have earned her widespread recognition, including being featured in New Orleans Magazine's "People to Watch" in 2020 and Biz New Orleans Magazine's "Women to Watch" in 2023. She was also honored as the Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in 2019, raising more than $256,000 and setting a Southern U.S. record for the most funds raised by an individual during a campaign.

An active civic leader, Allie serves on the board of the New Orleans Ballet Association, the Director’s Advisory Council for Tulane’s Newcomb Institute, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Albert Lepage Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the President’s Ad Hoc Committee for the Junior League of New Orleans. She is also a development committee member for Son of a Saint and serves on the advocacy board for the Louisiana SPCA. Allie is also a volunteer with Dress for Success New Orleans, the American Cancer Society and the Newcomb Alumnae Association.

Allie holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Marketing from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, a Master’s in Neuroscience from Tulane University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Tulane University. She is currently enhancing her expertise through the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education Program for Nonprofit Leadership.

Allie is married to artist Bobby Dandry and is the proud mother of Evelyn.

Dan Shapiro

Dan Shapiro has been a dedicated business leader and committed philanthropist in the greater New Orleans area for more than four decades. His journey from local entrepreneur to national brand builder and now to a prominent philanthropic leader, stands as a powerful example of purpose-driven leadership and enduring impact.

Dan's business career began in the early 1980s, where he managed and operated several regional convenience store chains, including TimeSaver, Majik Market, and EZ Serve. In 2001, a 90-day consulting engagement with Crescent Oil in Independence, Kansas, evolved into a five-year commitment, during which he became deeply involved with a promising new concept: Krispy Krunchy Chicken. Following the devastating impact of Hurricane Katrina on South Louisiana, Dan recognized the critical need to expand Krispy Krunchy Chicken beyond regional limitations to safeguard it from future local disasters. In 2006, he joined the company as an owner and Executive Vice President with a mission to grow it nationally. Under his strategic leadership, the company expanded rapidly. Dan was appointed CEO in 2021 and became Chairman of the Board in 2023. Today, Krispy Krunchy Chicken boasts over 3,300 locations and sells more than 60 million pounds of chicken annually. In recognition of his significant business achievements, Dan was inducted into the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame in 2023.

Beyond his business success, Dan and his wife, Debbie, have long been committed to giving back to the community, particularly through supporting educational initiatives for underserved youth. Their philanthropic efforts have benefited organizations such as The ACE and ARETE, as well as the Good Shepherd School. In 2025, continuing their legacy of service, Dan, Debbie and their daughter Allie established the Shapiro Family Foundation. The foundation amplifies the Shapiro family’s deep commitment to education, equity and opportunity, embodying Dan’s core belief that sustainable success must be shared and reinvested into the community. Through the Shapiro Family Foundation, Dan continues to champion initiatives that foster positive change and create lasting impact in New Orleans and beyond.
